사물은 쌓인다. 시간도 쌓인다. 아무것도 쌓이지 않는 것처럼 살아온 삶의 무게도 쌓인다. Day after day는 기술에 관한 작업이 아니다. 일상을 살아내는 것이 아니라 최적화해야 할 무언가로 다루기로 한, 조용하고 집단적인 합의에 관한 작업이다. 이 작업은 그 합의가 낳은 것들을 바라본다. 자리를 잃은 사물들, 목격되지 않는 노동, 의미 없이 반복되는 일상. 카메라는 개입하지 않는다. 이미 거기 있는 것 앞에, 카메라는 그저 존재한다. 네 장의 사진. 두 도시. 하나의 질문: 사회가 흡수하지 못하는 것들의 시각에서 바라볼 때, 그 사회는 어떤 모습인가?
Things accumulate. So does time. So does the weight of a life lived as though neither does. Day after day is not about technology. It is about the agreement we have made – quietly, collectively – to treat daily life as something to be optimised rather than inhabited. The work observes what that agreement produces: objects without place, labour without witness, repetition without meaning. The camera does not intervene. It is present for what is already there. Four photographs. Two cities. The same question: From the perspective of what a society cannot absorb, what does that society look like?
